I’m really grateful that I’ve met a lot of good people around my trip this time. As I’m leaving from Shenzhen to Macau, I’m thinking going back for another time, and another chance. The ferry from Shenzhen to Macau takes about an hour and half. And, here it is:
I’m staying at Best Western Sun Sun Hotel Macau. It was HKD 500, expensive? Not really. I mean, there aren’t many hostel or guest house in Macau since usually people only going for a day trip. And most of hotels in Macau are twice or even more. Most of them are luxurious and fancy, since a lot of people here coming for spending money in gambling or night entertainment. So I guess, HKD 500 it’s okay, and it will be good for me to stay at least a night in a hotel after sleeping in bunk bed and shared room in hostel. So it will be quite a treat for me :)
Anyway, it’s not hard to find my hotel. It only takes 30 minutes bus ride and my hotel is only 2 minutes walking from bus terminus! I’m so happy that I pick the right one :) I arrived around 2.30 pm, the room was small but since I’m alone so it was okay. Bathroom is big though. I was thinking to take some shower and then take a walk wherever my foot could go since I got a little bit sick because of cold.
Pretty typical of me, I wandering around Macau street by foot. I feel like I’m not in China anymore. Narrow street and paving blocks, lot of stairs as the land is a little bit hilly. Yes, there are still many Portuguese influence in Macau. Even on the road sign, bus, and other public transportation. The only Portuguese language that stuck in my head is: “Proxima paragem…” which is mean “next stop…” on the bus :P
Here are some shots of Macau…
The heritage Buildings, the Sao Paulo Cathedral, the Fort and the Macau Museum are close each other. So you really can found it easily by walking around the central. You also can find many shops around, from local store until international brand. I think it’s a heaven for shoppers :)
I came back to my hotel around 8pm and I met another traveler in the lobby. Indonesian traveler, I could recognize their language :) Too bad I didn’t take much time for having conversation because I’m getting sore throat and having a bit fever. So I straight up to my room, having dinner and take a rest.
I’m sure there are still some part of Macau that I didn’t have any chance to look because I’m sick. Like traditional village, Taipa, or maybe I could get inside MGM Casino :)
On the next day, I feel much better, and I’m ready to go back for another night in Hong Kong and back to Jakarta with very early morning flight: 5 am. So I have to leave from my hostel around 3 am :( Anyway, before I leave, I manage to buy some souvenirs and stuff in Hong Kong. And finally, I managed to ditch all remaining balance on my Octopus card :)
So, that’s all folks. That’s the whole stories of my journey… Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Macau… all of them are kinda new experience for me. As a traveler, I always trying to emphasize everything I see, hear, taste, and smell. I learn a lot about how Chinese people trying to be helpful even most of them can’t speak English. I learn a lot about how people can be very close with strangers and become friends. I learn a lot about how I can trust my own instinct without getting myself in trouble. There are many things I learnt on this trip.
Thank you Felipe, Thaís, Kirill, Nando, Alex, Julia, people in Nando’s Monday Night Party. You guys are wonderful. I would very happy if one day we could meet again :)
